Josh Meier is a nature photographer and writer focused on eco-travel and environmental issues. He and his wife Cris currently live near Tipton, Iowa along with their four legged floppy-eared (hereditary condition) daughter, Lulu. His résumé includes a complete hike of the Pacific Crest Trail from Mexico to Canada, completion of the northern half of the Appalachian Trail from Katahdin to Harpers Ferry, a second Appalachian Trail section hike across the state of Maine, bicycle tours from West Virginia to Iowa, three successful completions of RAGBRAI, and some work and schooling and stuff.
Josh is currently enrolled as a student at the University of Iowa, pursuing a degree in Journalism and Mass Communications along with a certificate in Sustainability and a second certificate in Fundraising and Philanthropy Communication.
Through his work, Josh shares his outdoor experiences in the hope of not only inspiring others to get out and explore the natural beauty of the world around them, but also to encourage the individual responsibility and social change needed to protect the environment and preserve these special places.
